On October 9, 2015, the EPA’s onerous Waters of the U.S. (WOTUS) rule was blocked nationwide via Sixth Circuit court order. In its absurdity the bill would have allowed the federal government to require ski resorts and other tourist attractions to relinquish their water rights as a condition of granting permits; not to mention place a burden on other industries such as agriculture, construction, small businesses, and natural resource development in the absence of a steady and reliable water source.
