The Grand Junction Area Chamber and the Young Professionals of Mesa County are excited to announce the return of the BestSlope NEXTGen Awards, which celebrates the outstanding achievements and contributions of young professionals in our region after the Western Slope YP Summit on October 22nd.
What is the BestSlope NEXTGen Award?
Focused on recognizing the next generation of business leaders and advocates who are making strides in their industries and the business community, this special honor is open to anyone making an impact anywhere on the Western Slope. Honorees will be announced during evening program at this year’s Young Professionals Summit. Together, let’s honor and empower the remarkable young professionals who are shaping the future of our region.
What is the criteria for nominating a young professional?
- Nominee must be an employee of an active business located or operating in one of the following Counties: Mesa, Delta, Dolores, Eagle, Garfield, Grand, Gunnison, Hinsdale, La Plata, Moffat, Montezuma, Montrose, Ouray, Pitkin, Rio Blanco, Routt, San Juan, and San Miguel.
- Nominee must be 45 years of age or younger as of December 31, 2025.
- Nominee must demonstrate leadership skills and initiative.
- Nominee must have demonstrated integrity.

We encourage you to provide as much detail as possible to help us thoroughly evaluate each nomination.
Nominations will be open until October 10th at 5 PM. We encourage you to act swiftly and seize this opportunity to recognize deserving young professionals who deserve to be in the spotlight!

Application includes a brief description on how the following criteria applies to the individual:
- What innovative and effective practices does this individual bring to their organization?
- In what ways has this individual grown professionally?
- How has this individual made a positive impact in their industry?
- For what charitable organizations, youth programs, education, volunteer opportunities, etc., does the individual participate?
Nominees will be selected on merit, NOT volume of submissions.
