The Grand Junction Area Chamber of Commerce has been recognized with the “Highest Achievement in Communications” award for a chamber of its size by the Colorado Chamber Alliance (CCA), a statewide network representing more than 75 chambers of commerce and over 50,000 businesses across Colorado.
The award highlights the Chamber’s excellence in strategic storytelling, community engagement, and consistent communication of its mission to represent business and promote economic vitality in the Grand Junction area.
Each year, the Chamber develops a communications strategy that aligns with its core focus and community priorities. In 2024, that plan concentrated on increasing awareness of the Chamber’s advocacy work, elevating visibility for workforce development partnerships, and ensuring investors and residents had access to timely and relevant resources.
The Chamber’s approach combined traditional and digital outreach, including its Annual Investment Report, weekly features in the Grand Junction Daily Sentinel’s News Flash, a redesigned Chamber News Site, and expanded activity across social media. Together, these efforts reflected a coordinated message about the Chamber’s role as a trusted source for business leadership, connection, and collaboration.
According to the Colorado Chamber Alliance, the award recognizes chambers that demonstrate exceptional innovation and measurable impact in connecting their members and communities. The Grand Junction Chamber’s communications strategy resulted in stronger engagement, broader reach, and higher member satisfaction.
“This recognition speaks to the commitment of our team and board to ensure the Chamber’s message is clear, consistent, and responsive to the needs of the business community,” said Candace Carnahan, President & CEO of the Grand Junction Area Chamber of Commerce. “It is an honor to see our work recognized by peers from across the state.”

The Colorado Chamber Alliance, a program of the Colorado Chamber of Commerce, works to strengthen local chambers through shared resources, leadership development, and collaboration on statewide initiatives.
For the Grand Junction Area Chamber, the recognition reinforces its ongoing effort to make sure the story of business in Western Colorado is shared, celebrated, and understood.
