Funding is currently available through the Chamber’s West Slope Works program to help employers offset costs associated with Registered Apprenticeship Programs.

The Grand Junction Area Chamber of Commerce, through its role as a Qualified Apprenticeship Intermediary, has grant funding available to support apprenticeship-related expenses, including mentor or journey worker wages, instructor costs, training supplies, and other training-related expenses.

Funding is available on a first-come, first-served basis and will remain available only until funds are fully allocated. Employers currently participating in a Registered Apprenticeship Program are encouraged to explore eligibility and apply as soon as possible.

Registered Apprenticeship Programs continue to be an effective workforce development strategy, allowing employers to develop talent within their own organizations while providing employees with structured, hands-on learning opportunities. Apprenticeships help employers build workforce capacity, transfer knowledge from experienced employees, and create clear pathways into high-demand occupations.

West Slope Works serves as the Chamber’s cornerstone work-based learning initiative focused on strengthening connections between education and employment while helping employers build strong talent pipelines.

Through direct employer engagement, industry partnerships, and workforce investments, the initiative works to ensure businesses have access to the resources and support needed to develop the workforce of today and tomorrow.

To date, West Slope Works has invested more than $180,000 into Western Slope employers through work-based learning initiatives, helping businesses strengthen their workforce while creating meaningful opportunities for employees across the region.
