November marks National Entrepreneurship Month throughout our nation. In celebration of this, we are excited for an opportunity to recognize the movers and shakers, the individuals who took that leap into paving their own path toward success – the entrepreneurs.

Entrepreneurs have long been a part of our community and have helped build Mesa County into what we see today. Seeking to build something out of nothing, these pioneers endeavor to a business as a way to build wealth, serve their neighbors, and hopefully leave a mark in the community (and often on the world). This requires risk-taking and courage. Entrepreneurs face challenges every day but they continue to innovate and cultivate their ideas through continued grit, determination, and collaboration.

From startup tech firms to Colorado Mesa University college graduates beginning new businesses upon graduation – the entrepreneurial spirit thrives here.

The Grand Junction Chamber recognizes the importance of entrepreneurs and their contribution to the health of our business community and community at large. They bring in and create new jobs, services, products, and innovation in our lives. In recognizing this, the Chamber, along with the other Economic Development partners, is committed to continuing to provide resources and support to you, the local entrepreneurs.

The Business Incubator Center (BIC) acts as a “one-stop-shop” for new and existing small business entrepreneurs. BIC hosts a traditional incubator program, a commercial kitchen incubator, the Colorado Small Business Development Center (SBDC), the Business Loan Fund, Mesa County Enterprise Zone, and the GJMakerspace. As businesses look to expand their existing efforts, we here at the Chamber provide a variety of resources to help you navigate investing and growing in our community. Finally, the Grand Junction Economic Partnership (GJEP) works closely to recruit entrepreneurial companies from outside the community using state and federal incentives to help bolster our economic base.

With just over 200 combined years of dedication to the local business community, GJACC, GJEP, and BIC remain committed to helping the visionaries in the Grand Valley or who may be interested in relocating to be successful at every step of their entrepreneurial journey.
