Those of us in business are well aware that it takes much more effort to gain a new customer than it does to acquire repeat business from an existing customer. That principle works the same way for YOUR Chamber. We want all of you to “feel the love” and know how much we value your support for growing the economy and being the voice of business.
Almost 40% of our entire membership renews their investment to the Chamber in the first month of the new year. To all of you who have already done that I want to say thank you and let you know that this is not the only time you will hear a thank you from me or the rest of the Chamber Board and staff. All of us are committed to being more visible, more attentive and more accessible in 2018.
Later this month a group of board members, diplomats and volunteers will begin the process of visiting each member with a commercial address in the area to drop off the 2018 membership materials including a membership directory with contact information of your fellow members, a new window sticker and a new insert for your membership plaque. If you have the time we’d love to hear how things are going in your business and any thoughts on how we can serve you better in 2018.
Do you find our special events like the Health Care Summit useful? Have you used Networking at Noon to find new professional contacts and potential clients? Do you approve of our advocacy efforts to improve the overall business climate in Grand Junction and the State of Colorado? Are you contemplating an expansion and want some assistance from Chamber staff?
This won’t be the only opportunity to share your perspectives with us. We intend to do more outreach and conduct more listening sessions with members this year and if you would like to be part of one of those conversations email [email protected] and we will make sure you get a special invitation to attend.
I’d also encourage you to take time to discover your Chamber this year. Make plans to attend a Business After Hours, visit a Leads Group, sit in on a Legislative Video Conference or serve on our workforce development committee. My personal goal is to have all of our current members feel engaged and know they individually matter to the Chamber. We want you to be a repeat customer and a repeat member for years to come!
