On a beautiful blue-sky day at the Golf Club at Redlands Mesa, the Grand Junction Area Chamber proudly welcomed 20 new graduates into it’s distinguished alumni for the
Mesa County Leadership Program. Those graduating had completed close to 100 hours of class time studying community issues and learning how to become involved at the state level. The Chamber began this program 27 years ago in order to provide business professionals with a solid base of understanding about the various aspects of the community and how to be involved in key policy making. In giving the class response, Greg Olson, Growl Agency, recounted the wide range of experiences that had occurred over the ten-month period and urged his fellow graduates to put that new knowledge to use and support each other.
In his address, Olson went on to say “Through this past year, this leadership course helped us grow our skills, talents, and abilities. I am more informed about key issues that our community is facing and all the amazing people working behind the scenes to make this the best place to live. I am far more informed then I would have been otherwise which has allowed me to get deeper involved in our community.”
The graduating class was made up of representatives from a variety of industries and backgrounds. They were joined in the celebration by their employers, family, past graduates, and Chamber board members.
We again congratulate the 2019 graduating Leadership Class and look forward to see the amazing things they do as leaders in our great community.
