Every spring, there is a different kind of energy that settles across Grand Junction. Storefronts begin filling with team banners, baseball caps become part of the daily uniform, and conversations around town start revolving around brackets, innings, and walk-off wins. JUCO is once again right around the corner, and with it comes one of the community traditions that helps define Grand Junction.
For decades, the NJCAA Division I Baseball World Series has brought national attention, economic impact, and unforgettable memories to Mesa County. What many may not realize is that the Grand Junction Area Chamber of Commerce played an important role in helping bring the tournament to our community in the very beginning. As a founding partner, the Chamber recognized early on what this event could mean for Grand Junction, not only from a tourism and economic perspective, but as a source of community pride and identity.

Today, that legacy continues.
Each year, thousands of visitors travel to Grand Junction to experience the tournament, support their teams, and enjoy everything our region has to offer. Restaurants fill up, hotels welcome guests from across the country, local businesses see increased traffic, and our community once again gets the opportunity to showcase what makes Grand Junction special.
That is why the Chamber is encouraging businesses throughout Mesa County to fully embrace the spirit of JUCO this year.
Decorate your windows. Hang team colors. Add baseball-themed displays. Encourage your staff “teams” to attend a game together. Whether it is wearing jerseys on game day, hosting baseball-themed specials, or simply creating a welcoming atmosphere for visitors, every business has the opportunity to be part of the excitement.
We also invite businesses and community members to participate in the Chamber’s “Business in the Ballpark” Day on Tuesday, May 26th. This is a chance for local businesses to connect directly with visitors, support the tournament experience, and celebrate one of the events that continues to unite our community year after year. Volunteer opportunities for that day are available and a great way to give back to the tournament that drives millions of dollars of economic impact every year! To purchase tickets to a game, visit the JUCO website now.
JUCO has never just been about baseball. It is about tradition, hospitality, economic impact, and community pride. It is about generations of residents who have grown up with this tournament as part of their spring memories and businesses that continue to step up to welcome visitors from around the country.
As Grand Junction once again prepares for first pitch, we encourage the entire business community to lean in, have fun, and help create the atmosphere that makes JUCO in Grand Junction unlike anywhere else.
Play ball, Grand Junction.
