The Chamber’s Annual Legislative Wrap Up, sponsored by Home Loan/Nationwide is scheduled for Tuesday, May 23rd, 7:30 AM at the Clarion Inn. Local lawmakers have been invited to attend and share their thoughts on how bills passed this session may impact businesses.
Chamber members on the Governmental Affairs Committee have taken positions as of press time on 39 pieces of legislation affecting businesses. Among the bills the Chamber has supported are several that seek to lower the regulatory burden on small businesses. Additionally, the Chamber has opposed several measures that make it more difficult for employers to screen and hire individuals. A complete list of all positions taken and the outcomes of those bills will also be distributed at the breakfast.
