Local business organizations align to grow peer-to-peer connections while strengthening partnerships

Our Valley is made up of a diverse and vibrant business community, represented by an equally diverse group of business organizations. All of which share a common goal to preserve our strong business climate.

On Tuesday, July 26th, the Grand Junction Area Chamber of Commerce, Western Colorado Latino Chamber of Commerce, Palisade Chamber of Commerce, and the Young Professionals Network of Mesa County unveiled months of collaboration resulting in the first-ever Grand Valley BizMix hosted at the Bank of Colorado.

This unique event provided an opportunity for members of each organization to come together and create new peer-to-peer connections (and reinforce existing ones) which are vital to their daily business success. In addition, it showed the strength these organizations have to work together to support our growing economy.

“As a community, our businesses are interconnected. It doesn’t matter where you are geographically located, each one faces many of the same challenges and navigates the same needs on a daily basis.” Candace Carnahan said. “Creating an opportunity for our combined memberships to strengthen their network for resources, peers, and leads is something that strengthens all of us.”

To go along with great conversations, the evening also featured ample opportunities to win. Event host, Bank of Colorado, provided guests with chances to enter their “cash grab” machines while also giving away gift cards for gas and local shopping. All while showing off their new branch location at 2452 Patterson Road.

The recent expansion to this new location in late 2021 includes a $250,000 capital investment and added three full-time employees to their local staff. Jeff Franklin, Regional President for Bank of Colorado was on hand to help lead the festivities. “Seeing these organizations come together is a great example of our ability as a community to work collectively and proactively protect the economic vitality of our Grand Valley.” Franklin went on to say he was invigorated and excited to see what these organizations will accomplish in the future while working closely together.

With over 175 attendees, the organizing partners agreed that this inaugural event is only the beginning, announcing plans to host future BixMix events three times a year, with the next one scheduled for November in Palisade.
