At the Grand Junction Area Chamber of Commerce (GJACC), we are steadfast in our commitment to being a vital resource for pro-business policies that support the growth and prosperity of our local economy. Part of this commitment includes the careful evaluation and endorsement of candidates seeking to represent our community at every level of government. As we approach the upcoming spring election, this responsibility takes center stage with the launch of our candidate endorsement process.
Last Friday, all candidates running in the April 8th City Council election received formal invitations to participate in GJACC’s candidate endorsement process. This initiative aligns with our mission to represent business interests and promote economic growth throughout Grand Junction. Identifying and supporting pro-business candidates for elected office—at all levels—has never been more critical to ensuring our community remains a thriving hub for commerce and innovation.
Each candidate has been asked to complete a detailed questionnaire focused on key business-related topics impacting our community. This questionnaire is designed to assess candidates’ understanding of and commitment to policies that foster a robust business environment. In addition to the questionnaire, candidates are invited to schedule one-on-one interviews with the Chamber’s Endorsement Committee. These interviews offer an in-depth opportunity to discuss candidates’ perspectives, priorities, and proposed solutions for the challenges facing Grand Junction’s business community.
All candidates will also be invited to participate in the GJACC Quarterly Membership Luncheon and Candidate Forum, scheduled for March 10th at the DoubleTree. This event provides Chamber members with a unique opportunity to hear directly from the candidates, ask questions, and gain valuable insights into how each candidate plans to support the local business community.
Following the forum, official candidate endorsements will be included in our Spring Voter’s Guide. This guide is a key resource designed to inform and empower the business community as they make critical decisions at the ballot box.
Strong leadership is the cornerstone of a vibrant economy. By endorsing candidates who prioritize pro-business policies, we continue to advocate for an environment where businesses can grow, innovate, and contribute to the overall well-being of Grand Junction.
