For over 30 years, the Grand Junction Area Chamber of Commerce’s celebrated Leadership Program has fostered community and business leaders. By providing unique opportunities for participants to develop their leadership abilities and increase their understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing their community, participants gain valuable insights on how they can become civically engaged to ensure future economic prosperity.
Known for its interactive and on-site sessions, this program “pulls back the curtain” and gives future leaders an up-close look at the complexities of community development, including the role of government, community organizations and private enterprise.
Conversing with local, state and industry leaders about what keeps our economy and community thriving, such as water, healthcare and education, and braving self-evaluation to grow leadership skills is only a sample of the hard work these individuals put in to complete the program. These experiences equip participants with the skills and knowledge needed to take on leadership roles in their communities and make a positive impact on the region’s future.
Since the program’s inception in 1992, an annual average of 20 next-generation business leaders have dedicated one day a month (sometimes more) to learning everything they can about what it means to be a leader in our business community as a participant of the Mesa County Leadership Program. That amounts to over 600 dedicated individuals who have actively taken steps to bolster and support our business community as committee leaders.
Applications for the 2024-2025 Mesa County Leadership Program class must be completed by end of business day on Friday, June 14th.
