Last week, Grand Valley middle school student entrepreneur Roan Baldwin represented Colorado at the Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!) Saunders Scholars National Competition in Frisco, Texas.
After earning the title of local Saunders Scholar earlier this year, Roan advanced to compete alongside some of the nation’s top young entrepreneurs. He presented his business, Munch Mode Machines, during the national semi-finals, showcasing the venture he launched through the Grand Junction Area Chamber of Commerce’s YEA! program.
The national competition brought together student entrepreneurs from across the country for several days of networking, professional development, and business presentations. Roan represented both Colorado and the Grand Junction community exceptionally well, delivering a strong presentation and demonstrating the confidence, professionalism, and entrepreneurial mindset that earned him a place on the national stage.
His business, Munch Mode Machines, has already moved beyond the idea stage into operation. Earlier this year, Roan installed his first vending machine at the Fruita Community Center, turning a concept into a functioning business that serves the community.
While advancing to the national competition was a significant achievement, the experience also provided valuable opportunities to connect with fellow young entrepreneurs, learn from business leaders, and gain new perspectives that will help shape his future as a business owner.
The Chamber is incredibly proud of Roan’s accomplishments and the way he represented our community. His success is a testament not only to his hard work and determination, but also to the impact of entrepreneurship education and mentorship. We look forward to seeing what comes next for Roan and his growing business.
