Businesses throughout the Grand Junction area are invited to participate in a Business Outreach Meeting on Wednesday, February 3rd, 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at City Hall, hosted by the City of Grand Junction and their broadband consultant, NEO Fiber, to assist in the development of the City of Grand Junction’s Broadband Strategic Plan. The Plan is being developed to provide the direction and strategies that will help ensure that there is a robust Internet infrastructure available for all businesses, organizations, and citizens. Businesses are being asked for their input along with that of all of the Internet user stakeholders – businesses, educators, professionals and service providers, local government officials, citizens, Internet service providers, carriers, and legislative representatives – to ensure a comprehensive Internet development approach that accelerates broadband availability, maximizes cost savings, and takes advantage of available funding opportunities.
This Outreach Meeting is focused on the business community’s broadband and Internet needs and will provide attendees with an opportunity to ask questions and provide comment and input on the planning process and the objectives and goals of the Plan. The City needs to know what broadband resources are important to area businesses and how they can impact business success.
The Agenda will include an overview of the City’s broadband planning process to date including objectives and goals of the Plan along with exploring business needs, challenges, opportunities and applications of broadband (i.e. webinars, videoconferencing, and big data). Next steps in the development of the plan will also be discussed. There is no need to pre-register.
