As part of the 10-month Mesa County Leadership Program, 24 attendees spent the day learning about the partnerships in our community that are responsible for Economic Development

Economic Development doesn’t happen due to the efforts of one organization or group. Particpants in the Mesa County Leadership Program found out first-hand that it truly “takes a village” for a community to have successful economic development. The day included presentations from the Business Incubator, Grand Junction Chamber, GJEP, Mesa County Workforce Center, City of Grand Junction, CAPCO, and Squirt Lube as they discussed their roles and how individually they contribute to the bigger picture of economic success in our valley. Wrapping up with a private tour of West Star Aviation, classmates were treated with a behind-the-scenes look at one of the largest primary-employers in Grand Junction.Next month the Mesa County Leadership Program will focus on our local Healthcare Delivery System.
