The Grand Junction Area Chamber of Commerce formally entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with CareerWise Colorado, in November, to work even more closely in transforming the future workforce through a shared vision of work-based learning led by the business community. Under the terms of the MOU, CareerWise and the Grand Junction Chamber of Commerce will work in close partnership on the business-facing infrastructure that supports apprenticeships in the Grand Junction community.

In order to successfully engage more businesses and support them in adding multiyear apprenticeships to their current workforce, CareerWise and the Chamber will coordinate the addition of a CareerWise Grand Junction Program Manager to the Chamber staff. Reporting to the CEO of the Grand Junction Chamber of Commerce, the Grand Junction Program Manager develops and executes the CareerWise business partnership recruitment strategy for the Grand Junction area. Additionally, the Manager will serve as the Relationship Manager to all Grand Junction CareerWise business partners to support their apprentice cohorts.

Funding for the position will come from CareerWise Colorado.  Those interested in learning more about the position can access a job description on the CareerWise website, www.careerwisecolorado.org and also on the Chamber website, www.gjchamber.org.
