The outlook into 2020 for the Chamber’s Business Retention & Expansion program is extremely bright. Each week we are out in the community assessing the current business climate and addressing the needs of existing businesses all across the Grand Valley. Local business is the backbone of our community and does so much for our local economy. Just last year, the Chamber saw capital investment numbers of $73 million and 574 additional new jobs created. This type of growth allows for the purchase of homes and vehicles, allotments for college and retirement plans, even donations and philanthropy.
At the Chamber, we create a strategic approach to ensure our communities are known for their pro-business attitude. Immense pride is taken in assisting with any state and local programs that may be available for expanding companies. We go to great lengths to assist employers in skilling up their current workforce. The Chamber supports access to the future workforce by setting up job shadows and internships for our younger generations. We are especially good at listening and to the needs of our businesses while forming an action plan to assist whatever the need may be. For these reasons, we are a catalyst for our business partners.
By utilizing our new analytics software, Chmura Jobs EQ, we will also be able to inform local businesses on how they are influenced when a new company moves to the area, how they may be affected if they are considering an expansion or additional employees and even what skills from other industries translate over to their desired skill sets when hiring employees. All of this while utilizing national and state data to see trends that may be coming before they actually happen in our area.
The Chamber is focused on securing current and future growth by allowing our local company leaders to assess problems they may currently see and make more proactive decisions within their industries and more specifically to how they, as a company, may be affected by national, regional and state happenings. We are the champion for business on the Western Slope.
