When discussing the importance of the next generation of business and the crucial role that it plays in the overall economic health of our community, we must highlight the impact that young professionals have on it. Young professionals bring valuable qualities to the workplace that are imperative for our businesses to stay competitive and thrive in our economy, such as future leadership, technological proficiency, and adaptability.

We recognize the challenges faced by young professionals entering the workforce and the complexities of adjusting to a new workplace environment. Our primary objective is to offer valuable resources that facilitate your growth and development as a young professional.

To help develop the Western Slope young professionals, the Grand Junction Area Chamber of Commerce and Young Professional Network of Mesa County are thrilled to announce that on August 22nd at Colorado Mesa University, we will unveil the first-ever Western Slope Young Professionals Summit!

Prepare for a premiere, one-day conference that centers around empowering young professionals (YPs) to ignite their curiosity, discover new ways to grow personally and professionally, forge meaningful connections, and uncover opportunities to expand their knowledge and engage with the local community to drive positive transformations. This conference will provide great networking opportunities for local, Western Slope young professionals, but will also provide the opportunity for young professionals to participate in many educational breakout sessions to help advance their professional ability in the workplace.

This event will feature keynote speakers that have a profound understanding of the young professional experience, providing relatable insights and perspectives. Throughout the day, breakout sessions will be designed to offer both information and interactivity, enabling you to enhance your professional ability in the workplace. Stimulating discussions will take place, with a strong emphasis on encouraging active participation from attendees to gain a deeper understanding of their workplace observations and perspectives.

Not only will we be hosting the inaugural Western Slope YP Summit, but we will also be unveiling the BestSlope NEXT Gen award. Recipients from across the Western Slope will be recognized at an evening reception surrounded by key industry leaders, colleagues, and peers as we highlight the next generation of business leaders who understand the importance of civic engagement and the power of the entrepreneurial mindset. The perfect way to conclude a day that will truly shine a spotlight on the strong young professional community we are proud to engage with.

Nominations are NOW OPEN to select any young professional on the Western Slope under the age of 45 that you believe is making an impact, as well as someone that demonstrates great leadership skills! Nominations for the Bestslope NEXT Gen award will close on Wednesday, August 2nd at 5 PM.
