The Chamber’s Annual Legislative Wrap Up, sponsored by Ireland Stapleton Pryor & Pascoe, PC is scheduled for Tuesday, May 22nd, 7:30 AM at the Clarion Inn. Local lawmakers have been invited to attend and share their thoughts on how bills passed this session may impact businesses.
Chamber members on the Governmental Affairs Committee have taken positions, as of press time, on over 40 pieces of legislation affecting businesses. Among the bills the Chamber has supported are several that seek to lower the regulatory burden on small businesses and make it easier for businesses to offer internships. Additionally, the Chamber has opposed several measures that make it more difficult for employers to screen and hire individuals. A complete list of all positions taken and the outcomes of those bills will also be distributed at the breakfast.
