While school is officially out for the summer we are hoping that some budding entrepreneurs between the ages of 11 and 18 will use their new found free time to apply for the Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!). The deadline for submission of applications is July 31st or until the class is filled which has a capacity of 24.
Chamber members, who know of middle or high school students that could benefit from being in the class and starting their own enterprises, are urged to provide the names and contact information of those students to Chamber staff by emailing [email protected]. We will follow up with them and provide more information on the program.
Over the course of the next several months Chamber staff will also be confirming sponsorships to help fund YEA! student businesses start up costs, tuition scholarships and volunteers to assist with instruction, mentoring and other key roles for the program that show area students the value of being in business in the Grand Valley.
If you are interested in being a volunteer or in supporting the program financially, please contact Diane ([email protected]). You can learn more about the program at www.gjchamber.org/young-entrepreneurs-academy-yea.
