It is with great pleasure that the organization announces that Candace Carnahan is being promoted to Vice President. Her responsibilities will include business retention and expansion activities along with oversight of fundraising and general programming. Candace has been with the organization since May 2015 and has been responsible for events, communications, marketing and programming in recent years. She is a graduate of the Western Association of Chamber Executives (WACE) Chamber Academy and has been named to the WACE Emerging Leaders Council.
Many of her former day to day duties along with the public policy support previously provided by Darcy Weir will be combined in a newly created Programming Manager position which has yet to be filled.
Kirstin Maska has joined our team as the new Workforce Development Coordinator, a position that she is well suited for. She previously served as a Youth Employment Specialist for the Mesa
County Workforce Center and was a volunteer mentor for the Young Entrepreneurs Academy for the past two years.
“I am excited for the changes that we have made internally,” noted Diane Schwenke, CEO. “Our members will not only see the quality of our service to them continue but can expect that service to grow. All six members of our staff work tirelessly to help the Grand Junction Chamber be the kind of catalyst for economic development, convener of community influencers and leaders and community champions our members”
